Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2 July 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Human Patch Cybersecurity ("we", "us", "our") handles information in connection with the security-check website at security.humanpatch.co.za (the "Site"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and complying with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA).
1. Information we do not collect
The self-assessment tool is fully client-side. Your answers are held only in your browser's memory for the duration of your session and are discarded the moment you close or refresh the page. We do not use cookies, analytics, advertising pixels, or any third-party tracking, and your answers are never uploaded to us or anyone else.
2. Information you choose to share
When you contact us, you may voluntarily provide personal information, such as:
- Your name and contact details (phone number, email address);
- Your assessment summary, if you choose to send it to us via WhatsApp;
- The contents of any message you send us by WhatsApp, email, or phone.
We use this information solely to respond to you and to provide the cybersecurity services you request.
3. Third-party communication (WhatsApp)
The "Chat on WhatsApp" button opens WhatsApp with a message you can review and send at your discretion. Any message you send through WhatsApp is also subject to WhatsApp's own privacy policy. We only receive what you actively choose to send.
4. How we protect your information
The Site is served over encrypted HTTPS and applies modern security controls. Any personal information you send us directly is handled with reasonable technical and organisational safeguards to protect it against loss, misuse, or unauthorised access.
5. Data retention
Because the assessment stores nothing, there is no assessment data to retain. Where you contact us directly, we keep your correspondence only for as long as necessary to respond to and serve you, or as required by law.
6. Your rights under POPIA
You have the right to:
- Ask what personal information we hold about you and request access to it;
- Request that we correct or delete your personal information;
- Object to the processing of your personal information;
- Lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below.
7. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date.
